FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You’ve Got Questions - We’ve Got Answers
We understand this is a big decision and we want to ensure you are comfortable walking into this appointment as much as possible. Please take the time to read our FAQs below. We put the time and effort to answering every questions we ever came across.
DOES GETTING EYEBROWS TATTOO HURT?
Before the procedure, a tropical numbing cream is applied on the eyebrow area for 30 minutes. During this time, a one on one consultation is done to ensure all questions are asked and answered. During the procedure, clients feel absolutely no pain and rate the pain level at 3/10. If the numbing wears off before the procedure is completed, additional numbing can be applied to alleviate the pain immediately!
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PERMANENT AND SEMI-PERMANENT TATTOO?
Strictly speaking, any form of eyebrow procedure where ink/pigment is penetrating into the skin is a form of eyebrow cosmetic tattooing. Traditionally, eyebrow artists would use a tattoo-like gun (very similar to getting a body art tattoo) to perform the procedure. Since the ink is inserted deep into the skin, the result is more permanent. Over time, eyebrow artists have evolved and modernized their techniques. At SLAYTHELOOK, our tools does not penetrate deep into the skin! The results may not last as long as permanent (typically 2-5 years), however, the results are very pleasing and most importantly, natural!

We take COVID-19 seriously. If you are feeling ill in any way, please notify us immediately to reschedule your appointment. It's not worth the risk. A COVID-19 questionnaire set by the City of Toronto is posted by the door for all clients to read through to ensure the safety of our staff and other clients.
WHY CAN'T I DRINK ALCOHOL BEFORE MY EYEBROW TATTOO APPOINTMENT?
It is recommended to wait at least 24 hours before and after getting a tattoo before drinking alcohol. Alcohol thins the blood which increases the amount of bleeding during the procedure which can affect the pigment retention on the skin.
SHOULD I WEAR MAKEUP BEFORE MY EYEBROW TATTOO APPOINTMENT?
Whatever makes you feel comfortable! I like for my clients to come in with their eyebrows drawn so that I can get an idea of what they like and are use to. This will be used as a reference point when creating a new eyebrow shape. Please note that when washing your face, the eyebrow area can not get wet or dirty for 14 days post procedure.
WHAT COLOUR AND BRAND WILL YOU USE TO TATTOO MY EYEBROWS?
We use Permablend and Permablend by Tina Davis pigments on our clients. We have over 20 different eyebrow pigment colours are available! Colours ranges from light blonde to dark brown. Please bring your favourite eyebrow pencil to the appointment to assist with colour swatching.
HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
Please text or email me your location preference (Toronto or Mississauga) and I will provide you with my availabilities for that location. In order to secure the time and date of the appointment, a $50 deposit must be sent through email transfer to secure the time and date.
HOW LONG DOES EYEBROW TATTOO APPOINTMENT TAKE?
For the first eyebrow tattoo session, the entire procedure should take about 2-3 hours. During this session, the eyebrow area will be numbed. Once numbing is complete, the technician will shape and style the client’s brows for client approval. We then follow with pigment color selection. Once the client is satisfied with the choices, we begin the procedure.
The client is to come in for a follow up visit in order to have any minor necessary touch ups. The second Microblading session takes place after 4-6 weeks after the initial session. This session will take approximately 1-2 hours to complete.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
The eyebrow area will be slightly red and thick after the procedure and color will appear VERY dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The color will fade by up to 40% as it heals. The shape will also shrink in size when it heals in about 3 weeks.
HOW LONG DOES EYEBROW TATTOO LAST?
Since the pigment used are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, overtime the area will fade naturally. Semi-Permanent tattoo typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Regular skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: clients who tan, uses products with AHA or Glycolic Acid. Each individual's color retention within the skin will vary. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12 months.
WHO IS NOT SUITABLE FOR EYEBROW TATTOO PROCEDURE?
Semi-Permanent Eyebrow Tattooing is not suitable for the following candidates:
Currently using Accutane (must be off it for minimum 6 months)
Have any heart conditions or using heart medications

WHAT IS THE EYEBROW HEALING PROCESSING?
Each client's skin may respond or heal differently. Please use the guideline below to give you an idea of what to expect. I have also documented my own eyebrow healing on my Instagram story under "HEALING".
Day 1-4: The tattooed area will appear dark, thick and bold. This is completely normal! The appearance will shrink and fade in colour by 40%. You may experience some swelling and tender to the touch in the first 2 days.
Day 4-5: Eyebrows will feel itchy and may appear thicker . Do not pick at your eyebrows! You will pull the pigments off.
Day 5-7: There will be some scabbing. Do not pull any of the scabs off.
Day 7-10+: New skin underneath will appear softer and lighter for a few weeks. The true colour will appear during the fourth to sixth week of healing.
